Persistence
To me, persistence means to do things over and over again until you are satisfied with it. It is embedded in the STEM curriculum because we believe that our work needs to be the best possible. We use it in projects, where we make a lot of drafts to revise our work. We do critique between drafts so that we can use that feedback to improve our work. We have to keep revising until we get to the point where there is no feedback to give back. I use this skill during school because it is ideal to do 4 drafts before the final. I have to persist in keeping on making drafts. In Language Arts, we have been taught to Revise, Edit, and Proofread. Revising a paper is to make sure that your ideas have been developed. Editing is to ensure that your paper flows well, making sure that you used the right choice of words. Proofreading is just to make sure that you catch any grammatical errors. When a math question is incorrect, I try to go back and find out where the error was made. This helps me figure out a better answer.
